Dover, Newhaven and Newcastle carry different products
DFDS does not offer ordinary foot-passenger tickets on Dover–Calais or Dover–Dunkirk, but booked bicycles are accepted. Newhaven–Dieppe and Newcastle–IJmuiden accept foot passengers. Newcastle uses North Shields; the Dutch terminal is IJmuiden, outside Amsterdam.
Ireland–France: bicycles differ from foot passengers
Rosslare–Dunkirk requires a booked vehicle category, including eligible bicycles and e-bikes. Ordinary foot-passenger tickets are not offered. DFDS advertises a cabin and four meals in the passenger product; pets require a pet-friendly cabin.
Use the correct terminal and pet arrangement
Dunkirk’s Ireland sailing uses the Loon-Plage Irish Terminal process, including reporting first to the ticket-office reception. Newcastle-route dogs cannot remain in vehicles overnight. Check the vessel’s booked kennel or pet-cabin arrangement and the dated reporting instructions.
