Where applicable law requires consent for non-essential cookies, analytics or similar storage/access technologies, they should not be used until the required consent has been obtained. Some limited storage/access technologies may be permitted without consent where the law provides an exemption.

6. Booking and accommodation services

FerryEU contains links that take users to ferry-ticket, accommodation or other travel services. Unless a FerryEU page expressly states otherwise, personal information, payment information and booking details entered after you follow a link to another service are collected and controlled by that service under its own privacy notice and terms. FerryEU does not ask you to send payment-card details through its general contact form.

8. International transfers

Some website or service providers may process data in countries outside the UK or European Economic Area. Where data-protection law requires safeguards for an international transfer, appropriate legal transfer mechanisms or other permitted safeguards should be used.

9. How long we keep personal data

We keep personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. Contact enquiries are retained only while needed to respond, manage follow-up, maintain appropriate business records or deal with a legal or security issue. Technical logs are retained according to operational and security needs and the retention settings of relevant service providers. Data may be kept longer where required by law or needed for legal claims.

10. Your data-protection rights

Depending on your location, the type of processing and the lawful basis used, you may have rights to request access to your personal data, correction of inaccurate data, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and to object to certain processing. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

Your right to object: where FerryEU relies on legitimate interests, you may have the right to object to the processing. We will consider the circumstances and any compelling legitimate grounds that may apply.

To exercise a privacy right, email info@ferryeu.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

If EU data-protection law applies to you, you may also have the right to complain to the competent supervisory authority in the EU Member State where you live, work or believe an infringement occurred. We encourage you to contact FerryEU first so we can try to resolve the concern.

12. Children

FerryEU is a general travel-information website and is not designed to collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data through the contact form without appropriate authority, please contact us so we can review and, where appropriate, delete it.

13. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or alteration. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as FerryEU changes, service providers change or legal requirements are updated. The latest version will be published on this page with a revised date.
