About the operator

Adriatic ferry travel from Bari to Albania and Greece

Ventouris Ferries is a Greek ferry company focused on the central and southern Adriatic. Bari is the Italian hub, with services across to Durrës in Albania and seasonal routes to Corfu, Igoumenitsa and Sami on Kefalonia.

The Albania service is the more continuous part of the 2026 programme, while Greece sailings are concentrated in summer. The current July–September Greece timetable uses Rigel V and Rigel VII, with selected departures extending beyond Igoumenitsa to Sami.

The ships are conventional passenger and vehicle ferries designed for overnight travel. Accommodation ranges from deck passage and air seats to inside, outside and premium cabins, while onboard facilities include restaurants, cafés, bars, shops, Wi-Fi and pet areas.

FerryEU planning note: do not assume every Bari–Greece sailing serves every Greek port. Check whether the selected departure runs to Corfu, Igoumenitsa only, or continues to Sami.

The FerryEU Ventouris Ferries map provides an overview of the Adriatic network. The current 2026 live programme should be treated as the definitive source because route patterns have changed over time.

For 2026, focus on Bari–Durrës and the seasonal Bari–Corfu–Igoumenitsa network, with selected services continuing to Sami.

After choosing the most practical route, compare the live Ventouris Ferries sailing for departure time, calling pattern, passenger requirements and the facilities or accommodation shown for that service. The complete itinerary and arrival location can matter more than a small difference in the headline fare.

The FerryEU visual route map may show historic Ventouris connections such as Patras, Ancona or Brindisi. Those are illustrative legacy references and are not presented here as current 2026 passenger routes.

Choose the route around your onward journey

When Ventouris Ferries can be the practical choice

Bari–Durrës is attractive for travellers driving between Italy and Albania because it replaces a long overland route around the Adriatic. Durrës also provides straightforward access towards Tirana and the wider Albanian road network.

Bari–Igoumenitsa serves a similar role for Greece. Arriving at Igoumenitsa places the vehicle directly onto the Egnatia Odos corridor towards Ioannina, Meteora, Thessaloniki and northern Greece.

For Corfu or Kefalonia, the seasonal direct sea option can remove a separate domestic ferry connection. The trade-off is frequency: those sailings are much more date-sensitive than Bari–Durrës.
